Arcade Fireplace launched WE on Friday, and as I predicted, it’s been a divisive launch. Some, like me, suppose it’s an unbelievable album and a full-fledged return to type. Others discover it disappointing and embarrassing. The rollout rolls on nonetheless, with a brand new music video on the heels of the band’s SNL look over the weekend.

The only “Unconditional I (Lookout Child)” is a sentimental message to Win Butler and Régine Chassagne’s son, and its video leans into that youthful angle. Directed by Beasts Of The Southern Wild auteur Benh Zeitlin, it options kids and large inflatables batted round by a complete lot of wind, with just a few scenes set at Arcade Fireplace exhibits that tie into the unfastened storyline. In line with a press launch, “The wind is captured at its most harmful and irritating, however in the end as constructing towards an understanding that, like all forces of nature, once we settle for and love them they will elevate us.” Now we all know why the band’s Coachella efficiency appeared like a used automobile lot.

Watch beneath.

WE is out now on Columbia, and I’ll remind you that Arcade Fireplace’s “The Lightning I, II” video was fairly blustery as effectively.
