Half 1 of the fiendishly anticipated fourth season of Stranger Issues premiered Friday on Netflix, and its plot apparently includes Kate Bush’s 1985 hit “Working Up That Hill.” As EW helpfully explains, Sadie Sink’s character Max has a working storyline centered on “Working Up That Hill.”

Early within the season it’s established that “Working Up The Hill” is Max’s favourite track and has been serving to her via powerful instances. This results in a sequence within the fourth episode wherein the one manner Max could be snapped out of a fugue state is by her buddies taking part in the Kate Bush track on her Walkman. It seems the one method to maintain Max secure from Vecna, a creature who preys upon youngsters’ guilt and disgrace, so the characters resolve to guard Max by taking part in the track on loop. This in flip results in an change in a subsequent episode wherein Max asks Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) “Will it nonetheless work? Or will Kate Bush lose her magic energy or one thing?” to which Lucas replies, “Kate Bush? By no means.”
