Jawbox, the good DC post-hardcore band fronted by indie super-producer and future Burning Airways member J. Robbins, simply put out their first new music since 1996. Technically, I suppose it’s new previous music. Jawbox’s surprise-released The Revisionist EP contains two reworked Jawbox classics, “Grip” and “Comfort” (each from their 1991 debut album Grippe), plus a canopy of “Lowdown” from Wire’s Pink Flag. On Bandcamp, the band succinctly explains, “As Jawbox rehearsed for exhibits with the addition of guitarist Brooks Harlan, we reworked a few songs from our first report Grippe. We felt these, in addition to a Wire cowl, had been price recording. Take pleasure in!”
