The history of Christmas tree comes from Germany. In the 16th century devout Germans brought into their homes the decked trees. Some was built wooden pyramids and decorated them with candles and plants. Candles was added to a holiday tree by Martin Luther in the 16th century too. Idea for lights arised during walk. Martin Luther one December evening noticed light of stars twinkling between plants.

Small group of people know that majority of 19th century Americans found holiday trees as oddity. The first information about holiday tree in that area appeared in 1830s and tell about settlers from German as a owners of holiday tree. Some hold that the German settlers decorated Christmas trees even in 1747. But, as late as the 1840s holiday trees were treated as pagan symbols and they weren’t accepted by the most of Americans.

The word „carol” in fact means dance or a song of joy and praise. Initially carols were songs of pagans those were played at the celebration of Winter Solstice when members of event danced round stone circles. Early Christians inspired pagan customs and gave Christian songs. In 129 the song „Angel’s Hymn” was popular and sung during Christmas service in Italy. Another Christmas song was created in 760 by Comas from Jerusalem. Then more and more composers in Europe try to writting Christmas carols. But majority of Christmas songs was written in Latin and that’s why a lots of people were not intrested in those things.
